About Coach

I jokingly say that I grew up a feral child, the only girl in between two brothers. Being competitive and athletic was a necessity for survival! There aren’t many sports I haven’t played at some point, but finding my strength through yoga has motivated me to commit to a practice I can see doing for a lifetime. It also gave me the confidence to try new things - in walked Lagree. My best friend invited me to take her class in Florida, and I then realized no matter how strong or healthy you think you are, there is always more to learn, more to improve upon… when the opportunity to teach others presented itself, I knew it was meant to be.

Turning Point

I have, thankfully, always been pretty healthy! I’m active and strong - an endomorph - I look like a cavewoman! But in my late thirties, my thyroid threw me a curveball - everything I knew about my own biology and chemistry changed. My metabolism slowed, I had little to no energy, and I was miserable. I weighed more at this point in my life than I had a full term with either of my pregnancies - and everything that had ever worked for me before failed. But giving up wasn’t an option. I was a single mom to two active, amazing boys and I was determined to find my health again.
Eventually, I found a practitioner who listened to me. We worked on my levels and finally, something clicked. I also quit drinking around that time, which was a game-changer in and of itself. As my body got healthier, so did my confidence.
I started going to hot yoga - sweat, stretch, and killer music set in a room full of people with similar intentions kept me coming back. Not only could I see the progress in my practice, I mindfully connected with others and the shared encouragement pushed us all to improve. My strength went to a level I’d never known before - physically, mentally, and emotionally. I realized that getting older might very well be an uphill battle - but with a (relatively) healthy diet, an exercise routine I love, and regular Botox, at least I could make the best of it. Feeling good about myself - what I’ve overcome, the successes I’ve experienced - it’s what I hope to share with others!

Motivation & Passion

I hope to inspire others to push through their fears and insecurities, to find beauty and strength in who they are today, and to not feel that any goal is out of reach. I would never be where I am without the encouragement I received from others, and I hope to pay that forward every day. I’m also a little crazy, clumsy, silly, and wild. No filter, sometimes filthy. But all with good intentions - I love to share laughter and smiles!
